Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation

[L – bare faced, R – wearing foundation]

I’ve been wanting to being posting a series on my quest for the perfect foundation for some time now, but the horror of actually having to put my bare face out there was too much to handle. I take a lot of my pictures in the morning and believe me, I’m not one of those women who wake up beautiful.

However, because I really want to document my quest to find my perfect foundation, I’m biting the bullet and sharing my experiences. My skin type is fairly oily, so I’m looking to find something that won’t cause me to have to blot every two hours. I’m also looking for a shade that very closely matches mine without being too warm or too cool (I’m somewhere in the middle!)

Lately, I’ve been using the Fit Me! Maybelline Foundation. Drugstore foundation has really evolved during the past couple of years so I’m not as skiddish as I once was to give them fair shot. I liked the fact that this foundation came in two formulas one being matte and the other dewy. My choice was matte and poreless in the shade 330 – Toffee.

The color blended well which I liked, and I suggest applying it using a beauty blender because it is quite loose and runny. Once blended it’s not complete matte (I’d say somewhere in the middle) provides medium coverage. If you like more full coverage, just let the first layer dry and apply a second layer to smooth out stubborn discoloration. Or, you can follow in my footsteps and use this as your daytime foundation…it’s perfect for work!

Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

  1. I LOVE this foundation! It has a really great finish and does keep me matte longer than some of my other foundations. I am more in the medium skin tone range so not sure if some of these brands have you color, but I’ll tell you some of my favorites for oily skin. πŸ™‚ It might help and you can see if they carry a shade close to yours! I love the Too Faced Born This Way. It’s not 100% the best for oily skin but it does a pretty good job for the most part! My other favorite is the Loreal Infallible. That foundation HANDS DOWN has kept me oil free the longest and has a great matte finish. Also I use a tea tree oil moisturizer to for extra help with oil and do use the matte and poreless powder. I hope those recommendations help and that they carry your shade! πŸ™‚
