Work Smoke

What I love most about a smoky eye is the instant edge and sex appeal it gives. No matter what the occasion, throwing on a smoky eye makes me feel like a woman of mystery and power. I don’t do many smoky eyes during the day hours, so I wanted to try and see if I could make one work for the office.

I won a giveway about two months ago, and I was sent a smoky palette that would be perfect for this. It’s the Eclissare Color Eclipse 5 Shades of Sultry (<—whoa) palette which retails for $29.00USD. The palette has an array of grays and silvers, but the matte black shade was the one I wanted to work with since shimmer can border on too casual and clubby for the office in my opinion.

I took a MAC #224 brush and lightly dipped it in the shade “fume.” I then buffed the color on my entire lid and lightly swept it into my crease. In order to make this work, it’s important not to use too much product. Focus on building the color if you need more. This way, you won’t go overboard and make the eyes too dark.  Take a bit of the product and dust some underneath the waterline as well with an angled brush to bring the entire eye together. Finish with a thin black liner across the waterline and two coats of black mascara. A nude lip compliments well because the eyes should stand out on their own.

Overall, I loved the way it turned out! How do you all like to smoke out your eyes?
