Art Inspiration

Back in college, a lot of my beauty inspiration came from Jennifer Lopez. She always knew (and still knows) how to look her best at all times. I remember a friend of mine telling me that she had an actual artist do her makeup. When she said artist she meant someone that would rather paint a canvas than a face. Someone who mixed colors and textures to create masterpieces. I never knew if this was true, but thought the idea of it was pretty cool. I also thought about how art inspires beauty.

I use Pinterest to catalog a lot of art that catches my eye, and I chose a few that are on my board to compare to products that instantly come to mind.

1. MAC Lipstick in Snob – One of my favorite shades. It’s a highly pigmented soft pink that goes on alike a dream. I like to pair it with “soar” liner, also by MAC.

2. Josie Maran Watercolor Cheek Gelee – The perfect mix of hydration and color. This cream blush comes in gorgeous summery shades and is packed with coconut water to quench skin as it adds color and dimension.

3. Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar Set – The glossiest gloss you will ever try. I am always impressed with the amount of color and shine that are in these tubes. I recommend buying the small set, because you get more colors to choose from and using a big one is too much of a commitment.

4. Too Faced Soul Mates Blush Bronzer Duo – I’m such a fan of Too faced and this bronzer is adorable in every sense of the word. Add a glow and warmth with these two shades that compliment all skin tones.
