Freebie Review

In order to satisfy my need for beauty products, I purchase a lot of stuff. Most of the time I’m looking for a killer deal or I’m splurging on something I’ve seen a great review about and I’m dying to try it. In addition to belonging to beauty box clubs I am also a part of the Essence Insiders Panel which is a group of readers Essence Magazine selects to complete surveys and test products. I hadn’t received a product from Essence in a while so I was super excited at the chance to try a new OPI shade.

Bae can tell you I was checking the mailbox like a madwoman trying to get my hands on a free nail polish..you would have thought I was waiting on a brick of solid gold! Turns out, I had a ton of buildup for a huge letdown. I was asked to test the shade “Can’t Hear Myself Pink” and while I love pink on my nails and toes, I’m not a huge fan of glitter and metallic polish. For the sake of product review, I painted it on last night.

UGH! Me no likey this color. It’s a bright Barbie pink with a sparkly finish that reminds me of a Lisa Frank folder or binder (If you don’t know who she is, Google her please!) This morning I instantly regretted applying it. I will say it may look better on my toes or as a lip color but today I have the fingers of a 12 year old girl and I’m not feeling it.

  1. I scrolled to the photo first and wasn’t a huge fan so I was happy to read up and see you weren’t a fan either. It’s an odd shade!

  3. This review was hilarious! You know you’re old school when you make a Lisa Frank reference in a beauty review, lolol 🙂
